fresh-start

Bright and sunny could describe both Monday’s weather as well as the vibe on campus yesterday.

With fall semester officially beginning at Marietta College, the Christy Mall was brimming with students heading to their classes or just hanging out to reunite with friends they’ve missed all summer.

For incoming freshmen and transfer students, Monday marked the first day of their Marietta College academic career.

According to the Office of Admission, the freshman class is made up of more than 350 students from 22 U.S. states and territories. Of the first-year student body, 16 percent are U.S. minorities and 8 percent are international students from six different nations. The average high school GPA for the class is 3.49, with the average SAT score of 1100 and ACT score of 24.

On Monday and Tuesday, students reported to the Dyson Baudo Recreation Center for Enrollment Verification and to receive information about various organizations and services offered at Marietta.
